"Once upon a time I was falling in love. Now I'm only falling apart. Nothing I can do, Total Eclipse of the Heart." Bonnie Tyler never said it so well, and how fitting for the Westies season? Injury reports released today by both squads reveal that Rian Tilgner, who'd experienced a resurgence in the last weeks, listed as OUT for tonight's season finale. It's like when Dylan left Brenda, and we spent the whole summer wondering what was to come.
Perk up, though, Bremerfans - there's a lot going on around BEI headquarters. First off, there seems to be a rash of pink eye about....okay, maybe that's just one person, and two others are out of town, but HQ seems a little empty today....perhaps it's time to bust the lid off a blockbuster news story?! Well, we don't have one. Good news, though....it's only 8:30 CST. I'm sure GM Sargent and team chaplain Zul can hatch together something for the masses yet today. We'll have to wait and see.
West goes to battle tonight with the lineup of Roth and Sargent at the guard positions, Zul at small forward, Burke at the other forward slot, and DeBaun in the middle. Also listed as active for tonight's match are Chad Cillissen, recently recovering from a high-ankle sprain, and David P. Plous, fresh off academic suspension. The fresh legs on the bench should help, as anyone watching the last two Bremertilts could've told you the team was dog-assed tired for the final 10 minutes.
Of note for the Westies' opponent tonight is the point guard who wears the LeBron / Kobe tights. He's a bit bigger for a guard, has a James Worthy-meets-Mugsy Bogues thing about him and likes to dribble with his head down. In other words, Reid Rothchild should have a minimum of 6 steals this evening.

Also, tonight is Westie night at Maloney's, so don't forget to wear your team t-shirt. As Rod himself sang, "You wear it well. A little old-fashioned, but that's all right."
And so it goes.
