The weather's been cold, and even when the sun peeks out the wind blows with no end in sight. But it couldn't have been a finer Tuesday afternoon for former B. West guard Nate Sargent, as he won the second junior college tournament of the 2008 spring season, hosted by Johnson County and held at Sycamore Ridge Golf Course in Stillwell, Kansas. "(I'm) Just glad we could play well on our home course, as a team," Sargent said afterwards, referencing the overall team victory (in addition to his individual honors). "I'll play in the thunder, but that lightning is bullsh*t." I dare say that is an opinion that we share with you, Nate.
For those of us who witnessed Sargent "do the Stinger's move on Sting" or still appeared in public with him when he dyed his hair burnt orange (Accident? I think NOT....), today's victory is one that proves the age-old adage, "every dog deserves a warm piece of the sidewalk." Or maybe that was Al Pacino in Donnie Brasco. Either way, Bremerton Press would like to extend their congratulations to a great start of the '08 golf season. Let's take state!
FYI, BremerFans - Nate Sargent will appear at Tanner's new Shawnee location on Wednesday, March 26, to sign autographs from 8-8:30PM. 61 Country Radio will have a live feed of the (what we can only hope will be) extravaganza. Sargent will also discuss his picks for the weekend's NCAA tournament games, upcoming JUCO golf tournaments and, of course, how to throw a kick-ass apartment party. See you there!
