Post Season Play Begins as Bremerton Readies for Sub-State Opener

As Coach Sargent looked over his scouting report late Monday (pictured), he couldn't help but become excited for the task at hand Tuesday evening. "I know our record is lacking," he said, "but something's going to click. There's gonna be some energy tomorrow night, I can just tell. Sub-state. HNTB. The Matt. Maloney's, the new post-game venue. What more could the Westie fans ask for?

A victory, for one Coach. The boosters are getting restless, the alumni haven't been coming out in droves as they were a month ago. The whole "Celebrity Coach" thing was admirable marketing but, ultimately, a major snafu by the front office. It's the product that's out on the court that matters most, not the sideshow that comes along with it, the critics say. But Sargent takes it all in stride. "We're a better team than our record," he states, "and beginning with this sub-state game, we're going to prove it."

Bremerton will be without several players this evening, including defensive stoppers Chad Cillissen (ankle) and David Plous (academic misconduct). But the early return of Chris Cool and the ever-steady hand of big man Mark DeBaun have the Westies' spirits high. "Tilgner is the X-factor," notes Coach, "no matter how dominant Moose can be inside, we need our mid-range players to handle the ball well. Tilgner has the ability to control the balance of the game. Cool, Roth, and myself will feed off his energy."

See you tonight for the game! Pre-game Pep Rally will be held outside the pool entrance of the Matt Ross Center approximately 30 minutes before game time. Go Westies!
