To quote the incomparable David Stern, "I would like to announce a trade." No, Bremerton is not getting Chris Webber or Penny Hardaway, or even Lil' Penny. In an under-one minute special press conference announcement, GM Matthew Sargent broke the news of Bremerton's impending deal with a group of Asian correspondents (pictured). In return, the Far East will get Bremerton Booster Club Chairman Nick Barkman."We feel that this group of talented camera-phone photographers will only strengthen our presence on the world wide web," Sargent said ("with tears in his eyes, I guess..."). The trade is still pending the physical examination of 10 Asians, which Sargent expects to be completed by the end of the week.
Nick Barkman, the 2008 Homecoming King, is scheduled to be honored at Tuesday night's post-game festivities at Maloney's Bar & Grill, at 79th and Metcalf Avenue. All proceeds will benefit the "Zul Rules the Kids" Foundation. For tickets, please contact BEI Headquarters.
