Good news is on the horizon, Bremerfans - B. West has never lost a homecoming game in franchise history! Okay, let's forget the fact that they've never actually played one, either....or that there's the whole "who's going to coach" thing, the player suspensions, the Paul Mitchell Report....and we haven't even touched on the pathetic on-court play yet! When you're at the bottom of the barrel, the only way to go is up!
As part of a new Bremerotion cooked up over the weekend in order to garner more of an Arena Football League-esque atmosphere, the next to games will feature celebrity coaches. BEI GM Matt Sargent hinted that this week's coach could quasi-celeb Frank Stallone. Stallone's phone is ringing once again thanks to brother Sly's recent hits "Rocky" and "Rambo Unleashed" (or whatever the 4th one was called). An official announcement will be made late Monday.
It is not entirely known what coaching style Stallone employs, but the prevailing view is that he prefers a fast-paced, power offense and a switching, 3-quarter court zone defense. This would be a departure from the Westies' prior coaching schemes, but hey, what good have they done? Hopefully one of our skilled reporters can get a look at the closed practice this evening and see what West has in store for us this week. Until then, like the Asia song, "Only time will tell...."
