The Ball Doesn't Lie, But Bremerton Still Drops Another

After Frank Stallone's second half outburst and technical foul, Team Ramrod's sharpshooting nitwit of a point guard stepped up and blanked on both of his free throws.

"The ball don't lie," Chris Roth said after the game.

It's enough that Bremerton lost the game, 60-53. "I'm sick of spotting our opponents 15 points in the first 10 minutes," Rian Tilgner said at the post game mixer. It's this B. Press reporter's view that this season's squad should be characterized as "slow to warm up." Haha. If the games were only 10 minutes longer, the Westies might very well be 4-1 instead of their current 1-4. I guess next week they will wear the white jerseys instead of the green then?!

Also of note during last night's game were the return of two fan favorites: Chris "Zul" Cool, fresh off a commisharge's pardon after being named in the Paul Mitchell Report, and Nate Sargent. The redshirt freshman didn't disappoint his "Nate Dogg Pound" fans, as he fouled out in only 6 minutes of action, the penultimate foul resulting in Frank Stallone's curse-laden entendre and subsequent technical foul (West's first of the season - the latest that has ever happened in franchise history).

The front office had to be happy with the play of combo guard Chris Roth, as he scored a season-high 17 points in the losing effort. No official word yet, but we at B. Press think it might have something to do with his recent ad campaign deal with Foster's....something to consider, I suppose.

Next week's game is against HNTB at 8:30, Bremerton's first game of sub-state. We'll see if they can solve their missing coach problem and get prepared to make a run at the state title this season.
