Team Bremerton was dealt a devastating blow this morning when it was released that head coach Rex Walters would not be courtside tonight for the home opener. Walters was hospitalized overnight for the flu at Desert Palm.
Although he won't coach tonight, Walters should be back to practice later in the week and yelling at Cillissen by next week's matchup with the Knicks.
"We'll definitely miss him tonight," team strength and conditioning coach Zul said. "But we won a championship under Coach Sargent, so we should be okay."
"Our thoughts will be with Rex and his family," team chaplain Zul was quoted via telephone.
Bremerton Press hates to remind our readers, and Zul, that although Sargent led the Westies to a championship less than 2 seasons ago, he also masterminded the only winless season in franchise history. Hopefully, the championship genius version of coach Sarge comes to "The Matt" this evening.
Bremerton hosts "B" Team tonight at 8:30 PM.
